WISHING A
HAPPY 7TH BIRTHDAY TO OUR
TYLER THOMAS!

7 years has never gone so quickly! We celebrated our baby, that started out as a precious preemie, with so many activities squeezed into one fun weekend!
Friday, November 14th was Tyler’s special day and he had a fabulous one! He woke up to balloons in his bedroom, writing on the bathroom mirror, and birthday pancakes for breakfast! Since both boys woke up extremely early, due to excitement, Lee was still home, which meant that Tyler was able to open one gift before Lee went to work. It also meant that the boys were sat and had pancakes and sausage in front of them BEFORE 6:30!

Tyler’s BIG birthday present this year was a new, bigger bike. We actually gave him his bike when the boys had their ‘friend party,’ so that he was able to ride it for awhile. I’m so glad we did because the weather was cold and snowy this birthday weekend. :(
To go with his new bike, we got him a water blaster that hooks to the handle bars of his bike. He wanted this so bad! Now he will be able to ride his bike and spray water on people at the same time. Brilliant, right!?!

Tyler had a terrific day at school! He and his reading group put on a ‘play’ in the morning. I was able to have someone cover my classroom for that 10 minutes so that I could go watch him and his group read. They did great! Tyler took cupcakes for his birthday snack to share with his class. I brought Subway for both Tyler and I for lunch and I ate lunch with him in the cafeteria. And at the end of the day, his class had an ice cream party! He was so excited that all of those things were happening at school on his birthday!

Surprisingly, Lee got home from work by 4:30 on Friday, which is unheard of! We were all very happy that he left work early to come home and spend more time with us and the special birthday boy!
When Lee got home, Tyler was ready to open his second present right away. We got him some of what he loves—books! He was so excited!

He sat down right away to start reading one. He actually finished one book between Friday night and Saturday afternoon!
We also skyped with Grandma and Grandpa Reynolds on Friday afternoon so that Tyler could open up his present from them. He got a huge fathead of Raphael. He thinks it’s pretty cool!

Friday night Tyler wanted to go out to dinner at La Cabana and then bowling, so that’s just what we did!

He LOVED being sang to! It made him sooo happy!

Brady had to try out the hat as well.

Bowling was so much fun! And their mouths turned blue from their ring pops!

Saturday afternoon we went roller skating with the Klein’s and then to their house for dinner and play. It was the boys’ first time roller skating. Both of them did great! It was a fun afternoon and evening!

Sunday was the day of Tyler’s family birthday party. Unfortunately, because of the snow that we got on Saturday, Grandpa Freese, Josh, Liz, and Delaney were unable to make the drive down to spend the day with us. Grandma Mary did still make the drive and we still had a fun day!

#7 cinnamon rolls for breakfast.
After breakfast, Lee took the boys to church while I stayed home and got some things done.

When I asked Tyler what kind of cupcakes he wanted to take to school, he said that he wanted to take both chocolate and white so that the kids could decide what kind they wanted. So….that meant I had to buy a box of both and make a box of both—each box making 24 cupcakes! Tyler took 24 to school, which left us with the other 24 here at home. I talked Tyler into letting me try to make him a Turtle cupcake cake rather than me making a cake and having MORE dessert in our house. He was fine with the cupcake cake, so I gave it a whirl! It turned out fine, but what mattered most was that he loved it!

Tyler got an Air Hogs Flyer and a new pair of Nike shoes from Grandma Mary.

Tyler, Brady, and Grandma played a game of Act Up Head-Banz while they waited for lunch to be ready.

And since Grandpa, Josh, Liz, and Delaney weren’t able to make it here, we skyped them and Grandpa was able to watch Tyler open up his present from him. Grandpa got Tyler a new water bottle and cage for his new bike and a Lego box set.

There’s Grandpa, Delaney, and Uncle Josh!

After lunch the boys and Lee went outside to play in the snow for awhile. They had a blast!

After playing in the snow, they came in and had some cupcakes and ice cream!

Thank you, Grandma, for making the trip to celebrate Tyler’s birthday!
