We have ourselves a 6-year-old!
Tyler had a wonderful birthday week to celebrate him turning 6. He was happy from sun up to sun down for 7 days straight and was exhausted by the end of each day!
Tyler is still the amazing, smart, funny, sensitive, child he has always been. He is learning the new ropes on how to be a responsible student and son. He absolutely loves to do his homework and is enjoying his new found love of reading his books all on his own!
Kindergarten is a busy day for him and he is still adjusting to his week days with no nap. His evenings at home are usually a little rough with his brother. He seems to be an angel at school all day and then ‘lets it all out’ once he walks into our house—usually taking everything out on Brady—and if not, then I’m the lucky one. He still takes his naps on the weekends and really needs them!
Tyler loves his boy things and loves to hang out with his buds, however, he comes home from school and talks about all his ‘girl’friends! It’s too funny! It seems that he gets a couple new girlfriends each week!
Tyler’s birthday was on Thursday this past week. We had his friend party the weekend before, a celebration the day of, and then had a family party the weekend after. It was a great week for him!
I cannot believe it’s been six years already, but I have enjoyed every minute of every year!

Saturday, November 9th
Tyler had a racecar themed birthday party for his 6th birthday. I made a racecar cupcake cake in red, just like I did Brady’s in blue, for his friend birthday party. It turned out very cool and he absolutely loved it!

Silly Brady.

Tyler had basketball camp from 9:00-10:30 on that Saturday morning. His party started at 11:30 and they all left by around 2:00. It was a fun and busy day!

Shortly after the boys arrived, we fed them pizza and bugle mix.

After lunch we went outside and had races with the plasma cars. They all had their helmets on, I stood at one end with the flag and Lee stood at the finish line. I said, “Racers, start your engines.” They would always make the ‘vroom vroom’ noise! Then I would put the flag up and say, “on your mark, get set, go!” They raced down the street on their plasma car, as quickly as they could to the finish line! They loved it!

We came inside for present opening. He was given some beywarriors, nerf gun, movie, book, remote control car, and football.

Here’s the crew. All very nice boys!
Micah, Christian, Jarret, Rylan,
Caden, Tyler, and Brady.

After cake and ice cream, we cleaned off the table for victory ‘spin outs’ in shaving cream!
They each had a few hotwheels, some squirts of shaving cream, and a great time! This was probably the most fun to watch and listen to! As if they hadn’t already made enough ‘vroom vroom’ noises outside on the plasma cars, the noises were really loud inside at the kitchen table while they were making their victory ‘spin outs’!

Brady doesn’t love to get his hands messy, so it took him a while, but once he got used to the feeling, he had a great time as well!

They even had some time at the end of the party to go outside, tackle each other, and throw the football around a little bit! It was a terrific party!

Tyler’s actual birthday!
Here’s a picture of my ‘early riser,’ Brady! He’s usually up too early and has to lay in our bed and watch TV for awhile. Brady and I had to go wake Tyler up when it was time. We opened his door and stood out in the hallway waiting for him. While we waited, we started to sing Happy Birthday!

Tyler woke up that morning to Brady and I singing Happy Birthday…
He came to his door to see balloons on the floor and what we saw was the biggest, cutest, happiest smile on his face! I think he was ready for his big day!
We let Tyler open up all his presents that morning.

He got a BeyWarrior Stadium with 2 BeyWarriors. A BeyWarrior carrying case. A BeyWheelz stadium and one BeyWheelz. The movie Turbo. It was a ‘Bey’ Birthday!

Brady was also given a BeyWheelz.

I made him special Birthday Pancakes for breakfast which he had with lit candles and Happy Birthday singing!

I’d say his Birthday morning was pretty perfect and he was ready to celebrate at school! For his birthday snack at school he took ice cream cups and juice boxes.

Officer Foster came in that day to read to Tyler’s class and wanted to get a picture taken with the birthday boy.
Thursday night we had Sam and Eula come into town. We grilled out and I had made chocolate cupcakes with oreos in the middle. After dinner we had cupcakes, ice cream, and did another Happy Birthday song!

Saturday, November 16th
We had the family birthday party just this past Saturday. My mom, dad, Josh, Liz, Sam, and Eula were all here for the day. It was another busy Saturday for Tyler, as he had basketball camp in the morning as well. It was very special that day because all of his birthday party visitors also came to watch him at basketball camp!
We had a great lunch, played outside, did presents, cake and ice cream, and had a wonderful day!

Here’s his awesome racecar cake made by Hy-Vee.

Presents that he was given were an over the door basketball hoop, Simon, Herky Pillow Pet, Hawkeye Sweatshirt, Hawkeye stocking hat, Bears Pillow Pet, and a Nerf gun.

Brady got some new books from Grandma Mary.

Playing outside with Josh.

One of my favorite pictures from the weekend. I cannot wait to meet that little, beautiful niece of ours in January! And Liz looks great!

Our boys enjoying playing outside with their uncle, aunt, mom, dad, and Grandpa Freese.

Brady got a sling shot from Grandma and Grandpa Reynolds. He looks like he’s mastered it!

Another round of cake, candles, ice cream, and Happy Birthday singing! He’s one happy, special, little boy!

What a great way to celebrate a 6-year-old’s birthday!!!
