A WEEKEND WITH DELANEY

We got to spend this past weekend with Delaney and loved it!

Lee had inventory this past weekend, so on Friday night I took the boys to the movie Box Trolls.  Saturday I took them to Brady’s soccer game, home for lunch, and then to Tyler’s football game.  After Tyler’s game we took off for Josh and Liz’s for the rest of the weekend.

Liz was gone for the weekend as well, so my mom was at Josh’s to help with Delaney.  My mom and I spent a lot of time trying to get all of the wallpaper down in Delaney’s room.  So, around nap schedules and feeding schedules, we were busy in her bedroom.

The boys loved playing with Delaney and feeding her bottles.  They also loved going to the park and playing with their Uncle Josh and Grandma.  On Sunday morning I took them to another park and met Grandpa Freese there.  We played basketball and played on all the equipment.  And when I wasn’t at the park or taking down wallpaper, I loved being able to play with Delaney, feed her bottles, and see her smiling face too!!!

I had to leave on Sunday afternoon to get back home.  Tyler didn’t have school today (Monday), so he and Brady stayed at Josh and Liz’s another night.  Mom brought them back early Monday morning so that Brady could get to school.

It was a fabulous weekend!

Our three little loves!

I think Delaney enjoyed her time with her big cousins as well.  She loved watching the boys and listening to what they had to say.  I think she loved the extra attention that she received over the weekend, but I’m sure she will be excited when her mommy comes home tonight!

The two white walls that Mom and I got the wallpaper down from!  That was hard (and frustrating) work!

THROWING THE FOOTBALL AROUND

Finally!  The day that Lee has been waiting for has come!

He and his boys went out back on a beautiful fall evening and threw the football around.  He was in heaven, the boys had fun passin’ the football, and I loved seeing all the smiles and taking pictures.

And after I got done snapping some pictures, I came inside to make some apple crisp.  We had many apples that we had gotten at the orchard the weekend before.  The apple crisp turned out amazing!!!

CENTER GROVE APPLE ORCHARD

We spent a wonderful fall afternoon as a family at the Center Grove Apple Orchard on Sunday, September 14th.

In the past we usually visit the apple orchard in Iowa City, which consists of taking a tractor/hay ride to pick your own apples and eating an apple donut and/or apple turnover.  We have always had a great time visiting the Wilson’s Apple Orchard in Iowa City!

We tried something new this year.  We went to Center Grove Apple Orchard, which is about 40 minutes away from home.  It was a full day of fun and a perfect fall day!  It reminded us of the Pumpkin Patch in Grinnell, only it had even more activities and more land to do them on!

It was such a terrific fall Sunday spent as a family.  My (and Lee’s) absolute favorite season is fall and the mid-west has some amazing fall weather and some fun-filled activities to do in the amazing weather!

We will return to this apple orchard as it was so much fun!

Taking the tractor ride out to the apple orchard and the corn maze was beautiful.

The corn maze ended up being one of my favorite events from the day.  We had cards to tell us what we were to find in the corn maze.  When we found them, we marked them off at that station where they were found.  We started out all together.  We then split up; Tyler went with Lee and Brady came with me.  It felt like we were in that maze forever running circles, but we were all so into it and were needing to find each object.  I think we may have been a little competitive!  We were running to find our gold!  It was so much fun!  We found them all and the boys each got a little toy at the end of the maze for their hard work.
