Lee and I got to go to the UNI/IA game on Saturday, August 30th. Rita let us use their season tickets for the game, which was just awesome of her! It was a great, fun-filled day, with an ALMOST win from the Panthers.
The boys and I went to Iowa City on Friday night. Lee was supposed to come with us, but we got water in the basement, so he stayed back and with help from Justin and Brett, they got the basement cleared out. Lee caught a ride to Iowa City on Saturday morning with Lindy, Justin, and Jess and I met him down at the tailgate.
We had fun tailgating before the game, had a great time at the game, and then a bit more fun tailgating after the game as well. It was such a good game. The Panther’s played great and really should have won. Even with the loss from the Panthers, it was still such a fun day!
My mom took care of the boys while we were out at the game. They had a great day as well!
Rita’s season tickets are awesome seats!
We hung out at my mom’s house before heading back out that night for dinner. We met back up with Katie & Mike, Sarah & Brian, Cara & Chad, Bridget & Nick, Kelley & Brent, and Vanessa & Patrick. We had such a fun time! Dinner was great company and then we went to a bar for a bit before we all called it a night after such a long and fun day!
As you can see from the pictures of the boys, they didn’t agree on a team for the day. We have been trying to coach Tyler in the fact that we can cheer for the Hawks during any game, except for when they play the Panthers! He apparently wanted to do his own thing and when I let them choose which shirt they were going to wear for the day, this is what they each chose. I’m not gonna lie, we were a little disappointed. But, it was his choice and he wanted to be a Hawkeye. Who knows, maybe he’ll play for the Hawks some day???
