MOTHER’S DAY!

DSC_0107

I had a great Mother’s Day at home with my family.  It was a dreary day, so we enjoyed our time inside hanging out.  After breakfast we went to church, and then spent the rest of the day at home.  The boys (and Lee) made me these mason jars with their handprints.  I love them!  And even though it may not sound too ‘mother’s day-ish’ I got a couple jobs crossed off my ‘to do list.’  I organized the front coat closet and went through shoes in our laundry room!  I was excited about that!  Overall, it was a good Mother’s Day with my boys!

On Thursday afternoon I got to leave my classroom for the last 30 minutes of the day to go to Tyler’s classroom for a Mother’s Day tea.  The class sang a song, read a poem, and shared some of the book that they wrote for their moms.  We then had cookies and lemonade and talked.  Tyler was such a gentleman!  He took my napkin and cup when I was finished, he let me sit in his chair, while he stood, the entire time, and he talked to me and loved on me the entire time I was there!  It was perfect!

SLIP ‘N SLIDE FUN

One of the things that Grandma Mary got the kids for Easter was a new slip ‘n slide.  We were able to break it out this weekend on Saturday when the weather was nice and sunny and warm!  The kids had a blast, as you can see from the pictures!

This is Tyler’s actual smile!  I love that toothless smile!  I don’t get to catch it enough in pictures, so I’m happy I got a natural one!

And the usual smile that we get for pictures, with no teeth showing at all.

It was a great day outside playing in the water!  I think we’re all ready for our summer vacation!

MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

We went to Dysart last weekend to celebrate Mother’s Day a week early.  Mom and Judy were going to be gone in TN over Mother’s Day weekend, so we decided to celebrate early.  It worked out perfectly!  The weather was gorgeous and we all had a great time playing in Dysart for the day!

We played a game of baseball across the street at the ballpark, ate a great lunch and many delicious desserts, played at the park after lunch, and just enjoyed each other’s company.  Delaney (and Kash) had a good time playing with more new toys that we brought her!

It was a perfect day to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mom, grandma, and family!

MY DOGS

You will usually find them wherever I am….and if I’m in a chair or on the couch, they are usually on top of me or right by my side.  As much as I would love for them to give me a break every once in a while, I sure do love them!

It must have been too hot in the house on this night to sit on top of me!

THE SWEETEST LITTLE THING

Brady is the sweetest little boy!

Almost nightly he will get out of his bed, after we have already put him down for the night, to walk to our bedroom to put a stuffed animal, or two or three, onto my pillow for me.  It’s just so sweet!  He just wants me to have one of his ‘loves’ to cuddle with at night.  I just love it and love that he does this for me!  Here are some pictures, but definitely not all!  This post is a post that I may have to keep adding pictures to in the future.

Usually he puts the stuffed animal(s) on my pillow at night, however, on this morning, I opened the bathroom door after getting out of the shower to find Brady standing on the other side.  It scared me quite a bit!  He told me that he was just bringing me ‘Chocolate Bunny’.  I thanked him, gave him a kiss, and then told him he needed to go lay back down until 6:30.  :)

Usually he makes sure to put a smaller animal on my bed, because I have told him that it’s hard to sleep with a bigger stuffed animal AND his dad all in the same bed.  I guess that didn’t matter when he brought me Baby Tooth just last night!

I love this little tradition so much and don’t want it to end!!!

SO LUCKY!

We are so lucky to have my mom come to watch the boys when we need her to or to have her come just because.  But any time she’s here she is non-stop with these kids!  We don’t know what we’d do without her!

MY BIRTHDAY WEEKEND

I had an awesome birthday weekend with my family!!!

Saturday morning Brady and I had a soccer game.  Grandma Mary, Grandpa Freese, Uncle Josh, Aunt Liz, and Delaney all came to watch our game, along with Lee and Tyler.  Brady did great, was an all-star player, and was so excited that everyone was there to watch him!

After the game we played outside back at our house.  Lee and I had gone through the shed and had found some things for Delaney to take home!

Delaney played in her new water table for a little while.

We then had a nice lunch outside and later some birthday cake!

My mom stayed in town to play with the boys while Lee and I enjoyed a night out to celebrate!  We started a little boutique in Ankeny where I picked up a new dress and sweater for my birthday.  Then we drove downtown and had a couple martinis at Stuffed Olive.  Delicious!  After Stuffed Olive we made a quick stop at Lowe’s to check out some lattice for under our deck.  A date night isn’t complete without Lowe’s!  Then we headed to our dinner reservations at Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse.  Amazing food!  We had a great night out!

Sunday night I chose to not cook dinner on my birthday, so we went out to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings!  Everyone was happy!
