(Awesome TMNT cupcakes made by a mother of one of my students! They were great and the boys loved them!)
We had a joined friend birthday party last night for Tyler and Brady in the middle of their birthdays. A month after Brady’s and a month before Tyler’s. It actually worked out really well!
They each got to choose three friends to take and thankfully both of them were wanting a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party!
We took the eight excited boys into Des Moines to go to Monkey Joe’s to jump for an hour and then out for pizza at CiCi’s Pizza.

Celebrating with Tyler: Caden, Ethan, and Jarret.
Celebrating with Brady: Ty, Ian, and Jackson.

Ready to jump!

These boys were great! They all had a fun time running around, jumping, and sliding!

I got so many cute/funny pictures of these four!

And the “big” boys were great as well! They just were harder to stop and get in front of the camera for me.

It was quite the experience for Lee and I to be at a buffet with eight kids! But, they did awesome!!!

Tyler started to not really feel that well when we were at the restaurant. I think he was at the beginning of getting a fever. :(
He still hung in there and put a smile on his face as much as he could.
He had fun opening presents and got some really neat gifts from his friends!

And Brady had a blast opening his gifts and was wanting to get them out to play right away!

Cupcake Time!
And even though Tyler wasn’t feeling well and didn’t eat anything but a breadstick for dinner, he still managed to eat his Raph cupcake!

The boys got some masks in their goodie bags. Too cute!
After we dropped all the boys off at their homes, we ended up staying at the Woollums’ home for a drink before making it home. We didn’t stay long. With Tyler not feeling well and Lee and I exhausted from the evening, we were ready to be home and relax!
Both Tyler and Brady have been in need of a new/bigger bike. Our plan was to get a bigger one for Tyler for his birthday and then give Tyler’s bike to Brady. Well, we decided to give him his birthday bike after his friend party so that he could have more time to ride it before the cold weather rolls in. So, last weekend when I was in Cedar Falls, and came home by myself, I stopped and got the bike he wanted. Before leaving the house yesterday, I got his new bike set up in the garage and got Tyler’s old bike all cleaned up and had Lee put a new seat on it so it would look nice and new for Brady.
When we got home, at around 8:00, we had them stand at the garage door and wait for us to open it. They had NO idea that their was going to be a surprise in there.
When the door opened, Brady first walked right by them, but quickly realized the bikes and turned around. Tyler saw them, stopped and his mouth dropped open. It was the best reaction from them both! They were surprised and very happy to have received their new bikes!

Tyler could not figure out how I had bought it and got it home. He was just in awe that I pulled a surprise on him and he knew nothing about it!

Tyler was shocked and so happy, but still not feeling well, so he went inside and wanted to wait until morning to take it for a ride. Brady, however, was so excited and wanted to take his ‘new’ bike for a ride right then!

The boys came to our house at 3:00 and we dropped them off at their houses around 7:00. That four hours felt like 10 minutes! It was just a whirlwind of boy excitement!
