We had another terrific adventure to St. Charles, IL for the 4th of July to visit with the McCabes!
When we arrived on Thursday night, the boys were ready to play and the adults were ready to sit, relax, and have a couple adult beverages! The boys did some sparklers and really enjoyed playing with one another. After they were in bed, we stayed out in the garage for a few more hours and caught up. We absolutely love the time that we get to spend with Luke, Jessica, and their boys! Wish it could be more often!
We woke up Friday morning and decided to go to the parade. Luke, Lee, Dylan, Brody, Tyler, Brady, and myself grabbed some chairs and some bags for candy and headed to the parade. We missed Jessica, but she had to stay back while Ryle napped. It was a beautiful day to be outside!
We left the parade a bit early, so the boys got to “walk in the parade” and wave to everyone as we walked by. And when we got in the van, they got to drive in the parade!
The afternoon and evening was spent outside in the amazing weather! It was a much cooler 4th of July than normal, and it felt so good! The boys played in the sprinkler and just had a blast playing.
Friday night we went to watch the fireworks on a friend’s deck that is on the river. Lee, Luke, Dylan, Brody, Tyler, Brady, and myself enjoyed the fireworks. Jessica had to stay back with Ryle again. It is such a perfect place to watch the fireworks! So peaceful, beautiful, and there is a trampoline on the deck for the kids to jump on!
We spent Sunday afternoon out on the river with Al and Rhonda McCabe before making the drive back home. It was a very enjoyable afternoon and the kids had a great time in the water and on the boat. Lee and Luke got in the water before any of us. They decided to go up the river a ways and tube down to meet us. They worked on things to make the tubing trip more successful for next summer!
The boys see their dads!
“Hi Dad!”
So glad these guys are the great friends that they are!
