MAKING OUR OWN ICE CREAM

May 17, 2016

I planned to have my students at school make their own bag ice cream as a reward, so I had to have the boys try it out first to see how it would turn out.

They had a lot of fun with the process and had a lot of excitement leading up to the finished product and even topping the ice cream with chocolate and M & M’s.  However, when it came to eating the ice cream, they weren’t the biggest fans.  You could kind of taste the salt from the outside of the bag on some bites, which is not what you want to taste when you’re eating ice cream!  We probably won’t do it again, but it was a great learning experience that they had fun with!

And I did do it in my classroom and the kids absolutely loved it!

TYLER’S BASEBALL SEASON 2016

Tyler’s baseball season for the Pirates began in the middle of April and went ‘til the middle of June.  It was long and a TON of games, but he enjoyed it.  He improved greatly and did well at playing at 1st and even did well at pitching!

Loved having his Dad as his coach!

And Brady always found a way to entertain himself.  :)

Like I said, Brady always did a great job at keeping himself entertained during Tyler’s baseball games.  On this evening I took more pictures of Brady playing near the field and the beautiful sky than Tyler playing baseball.  It was breathtaking.

I absolutely LOVE this picture!

And Tyler did a great job as well!

June 11th-Tournament

The last of it!  Tyler’s team only had to play 2 games in the tournament, but that was enough!  It was HOT!!!

He even got to pitch one last time.  It was so HOT and towards the end of the game.  These poor boys had no strength left.  But they all hung in there and played their hearts out.

It was a great season with the Pirates!

SPELLING BEE

Tyler competed in the school spelling bee on May 12th.  They took the top 2 spellers from each classroom to be able to compete up against the whole school, 1st-3rd grades.

His words were chalk, touch, and starry.  He made it to the third round, but spelled starry with just the one ‘r’.  He handled himself well and got a medal for doing so well!

We were all so proud!

And of course we got to stop at Culver’s after school for some ice cream to treat them to such an awesome day!

MOTHER’S DAY 2016

We had a wonderful day in Dysart on May 8th celebrating Mother’s Day.  We played a lot of baseball and the kids had a great time playing with bubble guns!  It was a beautiful day and I got to enjoy it as a mom with my kids and as a daughter/granddaughter with my mom and grandma.  As well as Josh, Liz, Delaney, a few of my cousins and Aunt and Uncle.  A great day!

Playing baseball across the street from Grandma Kriz’s.

My two sons who make me a very proud mom.  I extremely lucky to call them mine.

Playing with the bubble guns.

Our loves!  And some amazingly thoughtful and helpful MOMS!

Brady planted this flower and colored on the pot for me.  So sweet!

SWEET DREAMS

I still check on the boys every night before I go to bed.  I just love checking up on them and love to see them peacefully sleeping for a bit.  And they come up with the funniest positions sometimes!  Here are a few from just the month of May.
