Uncle Josh and TylerI have been off work since last Friday for Spring Break and we have really been enjoying ourselves! Tyler and I left for Iowa City last Thursday after work. My mom got surgery on her foot on Thursday, so we went to stay with her to take care of her. My mom (and Tyler) had lots of visitors and it was great to see everyone. We even got my mom out of the house on our last day there and took Tyler to the park. Tyler and I left to come back home Monday night. To say the least, I was exhausted! It took a lot of work taking care of my mom who could only get off the couch to go the bathroom while still taking care of Tyler. But it was great spending time with her and she really needed us there, so we were more than happy to take care of her. Tuesday was a beautiful day here so we spent alot of time playing outside. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, Tyler has and will be spending his days at daycare. I am spending my time getting a lot of work done at home! It's been so nice!
Tyler's new found love is basketball. Yesterday he walked from driveway to driveway to look at the basketball hoops in the neighborhood. We ended up playing at our next door neighbors and then coming home to take a quick cat nap. After nap and supper I took our little basketball hoop out on the back deck and he played basketball out there. At 7:00 we came back inside because it was getting a bit chilly and he played b-ball in the living room. It was the last thing he played last night and the first thing he played this morning. This makes Lee especially happy at this March Madness time of year. He's extremely happy to be watching b-ball on TV this weekend and to be playing b-ball with Tyler--whether it be in the living room or outside.
This past Sunday we drove to St. Charles to see Luke, Jessica, and Dylan. What a cute baby boy! We are so happy for them and loved seeing them as parents. Tyler really checked Dylan out and was interested in "the baby." Tyler did okay on the 3 hour drive from Iowa City, but both ways was getting very anxious in the last hour of the drive to get out and run around. A 3 hour drive is a bit much to ask for from a 1 year old. But, we are so glad that we made the drive to see the new baby and the proud parents and can't wait to see them again this summer. We were also very thankful to Grandma McCabe for making us an amazing lunch! Thank you! We'll see all of you soon!
