We had a terrific, busy weekend in Iowa City last weekend! (5/30-6/1)
The reason for our visit was to help Mom move boxes to, and clean, her new house. We decided to leave for Iowa City on Friday night since Lee was able to get out of work at a decent time. We met my mom at Blackstone for dinner and drinks and then headed to her place. We had an amazing dinner!
Saturday morning we went down to the Farmer’s Market, played at the playground downtown, ran through the sprinklers, and walked around looking for ‘Herky’s’! The boys loved to see all the different Herky’s around the city. Sometime this summer we will have to find all 83!
Josh came into town Saturday afternoon. We ordered in food and hung out Saturday night. We all got another good night of sleep for our busy day on Sunday.
Sunday morning we woke up and immediately started working. Josh and Lee took many trips with all the boxes and anything else they could put into the garage of Mom’s new place. Rita and I cleaned Mom’s new place and Mom and the boys stayed back at the old house to pack up more and more.
We got a lot done in just that one day and I can’t wait to go back to see it with all of the furniture, paint, and new appliances!
I love visiting Iowa City! It’s always a good time!
Homegrown Herky was down at the Farmer’s Market.
The boys had the best time playing in the sprinklers downtown.
Marching Band Herky is in front of the football stadium.
Grandma treated the boys to some ice cream after dinner on Saturday night.
