Tyler had his ‘Candy House Day’ this past Thursday and had a full day of excitement and fun!
This is a Kindergarten day that I have personally lived for now the past 4 years. 3 years as a Kindergarten teacher and now the 4th year as a Kindergarten parent! As a teacher, it is a great, wonderful, and memorable day. However, the work and planning leading up to the day is exhausting, stressful, and draining! So, as just a Kindergarten parent, and 2nd grade teacher, this year, I was able to enjoy ‘the day’!
Tyler had such a great day and had been looking forward to this day for awhile. Lee and I had scheduled to be there to help him with his ‘Candy House’ during my lunch time, so Tyler had to wait all morning until it was finally his time to create his very own ‘Candy House.’ The day for the Kindergartners is a day that they will always remember. They travel from Kinder. room to Kinder. room and in each room do a different Christmas Activity. And at some point throughout the day, they are able to create their very own ‘Candy House.’ It really is a very special day!
Well, as Tyler is a child the really doesn’t like to get his hands messy a whole lot, he did some of the input on what he wanted and where he wanted it and then told Lee and I what to do. He did get his hands dirty a bit and did put a little frosting on and put some candy pieces on top, but all that really matters is that he absolutely LOVED the fact that both his mom and his dad were at school, for him, to help him make something!
He is very proud of his Candy House and will always remember, when he looks back at these pictures, what a great day it was with his class, and with his mom and dad!
